This spot is a great example of what a typical 1800s New Hampshire village looked like. It started as a small outpost but grew into a busy center for local laws and gatherings. You will find two big green spaces where people once traded and practiced drills, now surrounded by handsome old houses and offices. The buildings here show how local styles changed from simple barns and cabins to the grand brick designs that appeared as the town did well. Pearson Hall, built in 1816, is a perfect piece of this history. It has been used as both a local school and a courthouse, showing off the great care our volunteers work so hard to keep alive.
